Marianne Littlejohn will be presenting her workshop, “The Biology of Spiritual Birth” in Johannesburg on Sunday the 6th of May 2012, to be held at Genesis Clinic in Saxonwold, Johannesburg.
This full-day workshop examines the neurological foundations of pregnancy and birth. Of particular importance is how early trauma affects the birth process and the workshop will include important information that will apply to all our practises, now or in the future.
Topics Covered During the Workshop:
- Marianne will present a summary of the neurophysiological foundations of the autonomic nervous system function, which is the part of the nervous system most strongly involved in the labour and birth process.
- We will also discuss the sympathetic and parasympathetic responses, now joined by a third response, that of the attachment and social communication response according to the polyvagal theory.
- There will be a birth simulation exercise to show the connections between how we are born and how we respond to being with women during labour and birth.
- The impact of the primal experiences of the baby before and during birth on culture, the social structure and the future of humanity.

HI Marianne
Pat suggested I get hold of you – I’d LOVE to interview you on my radio show when you’re up here in Jhb for your workshop. Are you keen?

Hallo Kerese
Yes I would be willing.
I arrive on the Saturday afternoon of the 5th at about 5pm and leave on Monday morning early. Perhaps we could do Sunday evening and you are welcome to attend the workshop.
Marianne
Hi marianne,
any chance you could do this in CT ?

Hi Natasha
I would love to do this in Cape Town though am not sure a prophet is recognised in their own country/city! If you are willing to help me set it up, then I am game!
